Water Propagation

Water Propagation

I love propagating my plants. From monsteras, pothos, snake plants, spider plants, bamboo, random indoor vine house plants…I love propagating them all. Each is different but very similar. I always use the water method, only because it’s the first that I’ve ever successfully used and it easiest for me personally. There are other options, however this is the one I will talk about. Snake plants like more time to callus before putting into water, spider plants I give 15 or so minutes before putting the ends in water, bamboo is almost immediately. Pothos I also allow at least 10 minutes to callus before putting into water. I purchased some random vine proportions and after about 4-5 weeks some have roots and I put them into soil, while others have not yet started to root, yet new leaves have started to grow so I know they will root eventually. I always wait for roots to almost be root bound in the jar or container before putting in soil. I have a hanging propagation station as well as a shelf that has grow lights above it that I custom made for my house. Eventually the props will be sold but I like to wait till they are in soil for 3-6 months before selling any of my plants. I want every plant to succeed and give as much joy as they give me. Stay tuned for a store to be added to the website.
