When mom travels…

Pennie and Tisdale always go to camp, which I will explain in a later post, however the girls are not trained and have only known this house as home. So when I want to leave town for an extended weekend or getaway, Blu & Dot are the ones I worry about. They are still babies to me and I protect them with my whole heart. Which also means I am very particular who is in my house watching them. Blu is an absolute lover while Dot takes a while for her to open up to people. This trip, Dot decided to pull one of her skittish fits and not listen to the dog sitter. Me on speakerphone got her into the house and then she shut down….mom wasn’t there. So then she corners herself by her sister in their room. At this point I don’t want the sitter to full on approach her as I’m not sure her mindset. Clearly she is scared but a scared dog can lunge out and the last thing I need is for her to bite anyone, ever. Luckily I have a barricade for their room so I just had the dog sitter put it up and leave her be. Later that evening I had a friend who Dot knows very well stop by and get her in her crate. She acted like nothing happened. The next morning, Dot starts giving the dog sitter nervous licks as to apologize to her for being a shithook. This freaking dog. Love her but she drives me nuts!
