Trips with friends are always fun! Finding food as a celiac while traveling…..not so much fun. This last trip with friends to Kansas City was awesome! My friends were so laid back and found some really good restaurants around where we were staying that had GF options. Even a BBQ place that had quite a bit of GF options, which is difficult to find in smaller cities. Here are the places we are at that I would highly recommend to any celiac visiting KC- Grünauer – I had their pork dish with sauerkraut and potatoes – 5 stars all the way. The waiter was so knowledgeable and made sure the chefs knew I had celiac disease. Char Bar – I had their charred bits & grits and a side of jalapeño cheesy-corn bake – charred bits & grits definitely 5 stars, corn bake I would give a 3 more so because it wasn’t what I think of as a bake. It was more of a soup. Still, delicious and I love me some BBQ, especially in KC. BRGR Kitchen – chicken sandwich with no bun (I don’t care for GF buns) and brussel sprouts. 5 stars again! Last one – Bristol – lobster Cobb salad and oysters in the half shell. Definitely 5 stars and probably my favorite meal of the entire trip! Go check out these places if you go to Kansas City!
