I have grown this beauty from a corm. I started this process by using small lava rock and perlite as the base in my cloche. Then placed the corms in the mixture and covered them with sphagnum moss, sprayed with filtered water and placed the lid on the cloche. Every week I would check the moss to make sure it was damp and once the alocasia nebulas started outgrowing their space in the cloche, I moved them to a cup hydroponic system. Mine consists of perlite and vermiculite layered with small lava rocks in the smaller cup. The smaller cup also has holes around it starting about half way down to provide the roots with water from the larger cup. The larger cup has a small layer of small lava rock and then water. Clearly, the smaller cup sits in the larger cup and then around the base of the alocasia nebula, I have a small amount of sphagnum moss to help with humidity and moisture to the growing plant. She now has three leaves with the newest being the largest so far and bright in color. She’s a beauty!
